Paul Felder and Mike Perry put on one of the more entertaining tilts on Saturday’s UFC 226 card in Las Vegas and the consequences were clear as day. It was Felder who got the worst of it, suffering a gash by his right eye that bled profusely during the three-round bout. Not only that, he would go on to lose a split decision.
It’s unlikely that Felder’s stock will be hurt too much by the loss given that he was competing at welterweight, a division up from his usual weight class, and was doing so because the UFC needed a replacement on short notice for an injured Yancy Medeiros.
The fighter himself, however? He was definitely stinging afterwards.
Felder’s management shared a video clip on Instagram of “The Irish Dragon” being tended to after the fight and it is grisly:
Felder has been moonlighting as a commentator for the UFC, so hopefully he’s mostly healed up when the time comes for him to step in front of the cameras again.
