  1. I have a 2011 ss and its a kinda stiff everyday car. stiffer then my 2010 wrx was stock, but its also balanced much better and handles better then that car was. my wrx was just pure grip with the awd. anyone could drive it fast and there was no fear of spinning out because it just clawed its way outta anything. I was really surprised with the ss handling for a big car. The staggered tires are what make it understeer. The 1le changes that and some sway bars and stiffer dampers.

  2. Thanks for the clarification. I guess I must have been thinking of the Z28 (Can’t wait to watch what one of those can do). I probably should have know seeing as the 1LE isn’t that expensive of a package.

  3. lol great review, but funny by saying if it does well on the race track it should do great on the road and then talking about how stiff the ride is 🙂

  4. No it doesnt have the magnetic shocks. It has the Zl1’s larger and stiffer sway bars, end links and bushings, but it still has the standard SS front dampers and revised monotube dampers in the rear. It is still comfortable on the street as the same SS springs are used.

  5. It is an everyday car. Its an SS with track bits. It isnt so hardcore that your teeth will fall out. Thats what the Z/28 will be.

  6. Guys you are required to run with the windows down on track. Haven’t any of you ever been to a track day?

  7. 1LE doesn’t have magnetic ride control. However I do believe GM tested the ZL1 with normal gas struts/springs prior to borrowing Cadillac’s mag susp and that’s what you see here. Oh and I’d rather have 1LE than a live rear axle POS. HA!
