Muaythai VS Kickboxing (in USA) — 19 Comments

  1. ภูมิใจที่ได้เกิดเป็นคนไทยจริง ๆ

  2. /watch?v=CDM9hKxzzVc
i’m want to watch this full fight and can’t find it ,anyone know?

  3. นี่ซิ คนไทย ของจริง ขอปรบมือให้

  4. 2:12 CHEATING REF, that throw should get at most a WARNING. not fucking 3 points. Those throws don’t even do much damage, just knocks a little wind out. Not like he purposefully kicked him in the nuts or something. Announcer even said they didn’t have that much time to go over the rules & allowing the Thai to understand them.

  5. True, but still that guy probably was no match for a boxer let a lone a Thai fighter. I’m sure there are other American Kickboxers who couldv’e done better. I mean I’ve seen other styles go against Muay Thai and have done better. It could be that now there is more exposure to the style. Who knows.

  7. Rick Rufous was one of America’s best kickboxers. He had speed and power, but he completely lacked the skills to face a true Muay Thai fighter. In those years you had very few occidental fighters who were trained in Muay Thai (Ramon Dekkers, Peter Smit, Rob Kamann, Dida Diafat). Most American fighters did Kickboxing which had no low kicks, no knee kicks, no throws, no elbow strikes… Faced with techniques they didn’t know, they had simply no chance.

  8. What a punishment!!!! I can’t stop watching the last 2 minutes of this fight!!

  9. This was one of the most amazing Muay Thai vs other martial arts fights I’ve ever seen… The kick boxer looks like a pussy compared to the Muay Thai guy.

  10. It’s crazy to see how standup fighting has evolved WORLDWIDE. Thai boxers have a much more dynamic punching game now and non-Thai fighters know the kicking and clinch techniques of Muay Thai. You can tell that Rick Roufus just didn’t have the knowledge and skills necessary to beat Kiatsongrit. This is what, 15 years ago? I guarantee a similar match now would be a less one-sided affair. But then again, it always comes down to the individual martial artist.

  11. You can really see how much these two styles have evolved a lot. First, you have to give mad credit to the Ameican Kickboxer who got into the ring with a Thai fighter. No matter who says what, he at least went in there and fought. But you can tell he really lacked a lot of hardcore training in his technique. His boxing was a little off and he probably could’ve developed more power in his kicks. Had he had better boxing and stronger kicks he could’ve done better against the Thai fighter.

  12. lol is that a joke ? the Kickboxing guy fighting a muay thai champ without knowing the basic moves to block a low kick ? smart. To Smyjinxx why the hell you expect the thai guy to punch when the guy in front never block your kick ? its like a punching bag….
