This video of Bruce Lee’s martial art covers the five ways of attack.(SDA, ABC, PIA, HIA, ABD). It includes footage of techniques, sparring, intercepts, stop hits, trapping, straight blast, one inch punch, training drills, ground fighting, throws, straight lead, side kick, hook kick. It also features attack on preparation, development and completion with JKD principles.

  1. JKD also includes ground fighting. However unlike BJJ, instead of looking for a submission, the goal is to get back to your feet as soon as possible using any efficient means, including eye gouges, groin grabs, etc. Unlike in the octagon, the ground is not a good place to be in a street fight as you are vulnerable to attacks from unseen friends or weapons.

  2. I understand what you’re talking about. Make the opponent’s energy go to the inside so the pak sau can actually push the opponents arm without resistance. Which then you follow up with a punch at the same time. Pak Da. I’ve experimented with energy manipulation + trapping in sparring. My experience, it doesn’t work as well when the opponent is constantly moving on his feet. Maybe thats just me. Instead I just fake low hit high. Same effect, just with no trap. PS: I’m in JKD.

  3. if da bigger opponents always over power u wen u trap try dis wen dey throw a punch or have there lead hand out wit ur lead hand hit under there wrist 2 break there rythm den prarry 2 da side of there lead hand trapping it wit ur rear hand an cuming in wit a str8 punch 2 either da mid section or face..might snd diffcult by readin dis bt i can show u better dan i can tell u an its very very simple an effective
