2010 Camaro SS NITROUS vs 1998 Trans AM WS6 – FULL BUILD UP and HI SPEED ACTION!! — 25 Comments

  1. Don’t forget to put the new Arias Hemi heads for LS series engines on.. 409cfm intake/301cfm exhaust with CNC porting…Only $9,000+ a set.

  2. Those new Camaro’s weigh about 500 pounds more than an F-body plus the areodynamics @ speed…New Camaros look like they would have alot of wind drag @ high speed.

  3. I really like the C5 body style, for me its going to be full bolt on plus EPS 226/234 and then call it a day. Leave the heavy modding for my fbody.

  4. Your right..everyone building big cube LS series engines are using Dart blocks which are 10 grand but very strong..Iron blocks make more sense if your not rich but would add 100 pounds to the front of the car. I think I’ll be happy with a an old Z06 with bolt ons and tune. They will run with or out run all the new stuff coming out now for a fraction of the cost because everything is so damn heavy.Better heads cam forged internals and NOS would be nice but unnessasary.

  5. Im just not a fan of any of the GM crate motors. Even if I’m having someone build a LSX block if I’m going to boost it i’ll go with a 4.125 bore. A 4.185 bore is silly if your going to try and boost it. 454 should just never see boost but thats JMO. The walls are to thin. In fact I’m not a fan of a 454 at all unless its a tall deck. I would always go a 427 n/a gapped for a 300shot or a iron 408/370 for boost

  6. Alot of people run the LSX 454 with boost but the change the compression ratio and set the engine up for boost. The way it is shipped you could not run over 6psi. The LSX 377 would be a better set up as it comes with a lower compression ratio and fatter cylinder walls. If a 04 Z06 can run 11′s with the old 5.7 LS6 it should be plenty fast with an LSX454 with no boost. With the extra money saved I could buy another Trans/Am.

  7. yeah…. call it a day when you blow that shit. Boost on a 4.185 bore is a bad combo ;)

  8. I have a new LS1 long block from Pace Performance that I’m gona put in and let speed engineering up in Tenn. put the X package on. They get 400RWHP with only external bolt-ons with a fat torque curve. The older LS6 Z06′s run mid 11′s @ 124MPH with this set up so the T/A should run in the 12′s.

  9. or just drop an lsx454 into the ta. Solid axle > IRS at that kinda hp.

  10. Yeah that motor is right under $10,000 and would be plenty fast with no boost. Could’nt run alot of boost cause compression ratio is to high but you could probably run 6 or 8 pounds. It would be very fast..

  11. …and call it a day! LOL! Classic :)
    You’re right…that’d be nasty

  12. I have a 99 Trans Am but if I was gona do some street racin I would get a 2004 Z06.. they weigh about 3000 pounds..more areodynamic etc. Drop in an LSX454 with some boost and call it a day…
