Auto’s have more drivetrain loss from the crankshaft to the wheels than manuals do, maybe that’s what people mean by “faster”, manuals can put a higher percentage of their power/torque down, but autos are obviously more consistent and when you get up to this kind of power, probably the better choice for drag racing, unless you’re trying to set a record for the fastest standard coyote 5.0, or you just like slamming the gears of a ridiculously overpowered monster of a muscle car, lol
wow! all i can say,is wow. i was thinking about trading in my 2011 5.0 automatic gt in for the 2013 shelby gt500,but after looking at this video,i may have to rethink this and in a hurry.i’ve always been told that the manual transmissions were much quicker,and i was gonna put my deposit down for the king of all mustangs.but i guess i will put my investment into building a shelby killer instead.this car is sick.i know that blower is a tad bigger than normal,but it’s killer .
Oh no sir you absoultely right. But, at the same time, the boost you lose by RPM’s dropping won’t be as much as having to completely let of the gas (because not everyone powershifts a boosted car) shifting, and then getting back on the throttle. That’s all I was saying sir.
I agree with the autos being better at the strip.. my 408 Fox has a c4 with a transbrake. But I thibk you are confused about building boost. This is a supercharged application boost is determined by rpm, so whether or not you have an auto, when you change a gear and your rpms drop, so does boost with it. A turbo is what you are trying to explain, and in that case it would be absolutely right. Not at all shit talking btw, just explaining.
this car would be even quicker if they took some weight out of it. 3,900 lbs is a heavy car for drag racing.

Autos are good for drags strip, sticks are for road course, but todays twin clutch trans are going to change that.
