Comparison Test: 2007 BMW 335i vs. 2008 Mercedes-Benz C350

www.edmunds.com BMW and Mercedes-Benz are separated by about 150 miles and a rivalry as fierce as the one between Coke and Pepsi. BMW builds the 2007 335i Sedan in the Bavarian city of Munich, while Mercedes-Benz has just released the all-new 2008 C350 Sport from its headquarters in the Swabian city of Stuttgart. Though Mercedes has long had the upper hand in terms of both stature and commercial success in Europe, the BMW 3 Series outsells the Mercedes-Benz C-Class by more than a 2-to-1 margin in the US, some 120180 to 50187 last year.

Comparison Test: 2007 BMW 335i vs. 2008 Mercedes-Benz C350 — 23 Comments

  1. Id have the mercedes. But if the audi a4 was in there id pick it over both.

  2. @sebastianvedia12345 good choice … the A4 isn’t really a fair comparison … more fair would be the S4 but i feel like the S4 falls between the M3 and 335i. i drive the snot out of my 335i and i absolutely love the way it treats me. i also upgraded the software to Dinan Stage 2 which makes it quite a bit more “peppy” :)

  3. This comparison cracks me up I happen to own a 08 c350 and it is slower than the 335 but its faster than a a4 v6. At the solum it doesn’t even look like the person is trying with the benz it is so easy to drive drive up to the canyons with both these cars I’m sure the bmw will come out first but the benz driver will come out with a smile on there face.

  4. i test drove both the 335i and the c350 , and even though 335i has better performance the inside felt cramped and the ride was rough (thanks to the run flats and stiff suspension) .. In contrast, the mercedes may lack the punch of a 335i but makes up for it with a comfortable ride and roomier interior. Thats why i choose the Merc C350 sport,. and its true- this Merc will turn heads even though its a entry !!

  5. @InfinitiArmani17 Your Talking about the wrong car classes… If you wanna compare A G37 TO A BMW OR BENZ Use either the 335i or C350

  6. End result BMW won, and why the fuck are people comparing G37s to BMW and Benz Infiniti thinks they can keep up with German cars? Fuck off a 335i can beat a g37

  7. bmw has 306 bhp merc has 235 bhp althought two of them is same power not for bhp

  8. I love my C350 and have no complains. BMW 335 is also a sweet ride also. My G37 is a sportier ride I think.

  9. the bmw is a twin turbo 300hp and sportier than the Merc and it can still keep up with the bmw, so what if you put only one supercharger on the Mercedes? BMW your fucked! ;)

  10. To be honest, the 335i is unconfortable compared to the Merc! I’ve been in my brother’s 335i and friend’s C350 and concluded that the only thing that was comfortable about the bm were its seats. I do realise it’s an ”M-sport”, so the ride will be sacrificed for sportiness which it sure does have! The car is awfully fun and fast around the bends, but, every day, I suggest you should go for the Merc! Pure lovely Jubelyness.

  11. mercedes for looks , but bmw for performence because it dose have the twin turbo engine

  12. when it was time to get my first car last year ago around december i went out and test drove all the entry level sedans in their sportiest versions and none of them come close to the 335i it just has so much more pull i test drove the A4 2.0 T the c350 sport and a 335i sedan the cabin of the 350 looks like some straight kia shit the audi isnt much better the rich interior of the bmw makes it look so much better andwith the idrive it rocks i am now a happy driverof a 2009BMW 335isedanblk/tan/burl

  13. Too bad in the real world, both of these cars are used as status symbols by young women with terrible driving skills, not for the driving dynamics.

  14. @tomgunc
Dude I can not agree with you more! I have 2 BMW’s and 1 mercedes and I choose my benz (CLK320) for when I have a date and I take my bimmer (128i) out for my daily driver. The other bimmer I have is an E53 X5 which i use for long drives. There is nothing that drives like a BMW, yet the benz is a lemon and it sucks on gas. I don’t regret getting the benz but if i could do it over I’d spend 59k on a used M3.
